Registry Loader PE allows editing of remote registry hives from Alan's Boot CD. If you boot from the CD then run regedit.exe you will view only the registry of the boot CD whereas Registry Loader PE allows you to view and edit a remote registry. The user profiles are usually located in the "Documents and Settings" folder.

After clicking the "Load" button, the hives will be loaded in regedit. Click "Favorites" to navigate to HKLM\_C_SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run which is a common breeding ground for loading viruses.
